Description

FrSky supplies the Taranis with an 800mah battery that has proven to supply many hours of use due to the efficient design of the Taranis, but lets face it, when programming and or long flying days we could use a bit more. This upgraded battery by FrSky allows over twice the up time thanks to its generous 2000mah rating and the low self discharge means it will keep its charge a lot longer when sitting around. Just what the doctor ordered!

Please note that early Taranis owners may need to run their charge cycle twice when first charging this battery, or when charging a deeply discharged pack. To do this, simply wait until the charge light turns off on your transmitter, then turn the Taranis on, and then off. The charge light should light back up and start charging again. Radios made from October 2013 on will not have this issue.

FRSKY TARANIS 2000MAH NiMH BATTERY UPGRADE May 12, 2015
Reviewer: Subatomicgenius from St. John's, NL Canada
Same battery in the FRSky Taranis Plus.   Not required,  though excellent backup for a long day of flying!

Leads/wires are of a lighter/different quality than the one I received with the Taranis  radio; I don't believe this will be an issue  but there is clearly a difference.

NiMH vs LIPO March 22, 2014
Reviewer: Daniel (LivingInTheGarage) from Hamilton, ON Canada
I like NiMH for radio transmitters.  Compared to LIPO's, NiMH poses less risk if overcharged by forgetting the charger plugged in.
I plan to just top up and fly most of the time.
It would be beneficial if the battery came with a datasheet to know the charge/discharge limits when performing a forming charge or other battery maintenance.
