The default PIDs are optimized for a 3DR/Jdrones quad with 850 motors and 10" props. If you're using more powerful motors/props, start by turning down Rate Roll P in 25% steps.

While some testers have reported very good flights with the default PIDs, some have reported that this release is a little "sharper" due to the DCM improvements and have found they needed to:

reduce stabilize P by 10% (i.e. 4.5 -> 4.2)

reduce stabilize D by 30% (i.e. 0.15 -> 0.10)

increase rate D from 0 to 0.001

Buy this motor from Dani March 15, 2015
Reviewer: Sean from Vancouver, BC Canada
Buy this motor from CanadaDrones, not the 3DR version.  If you bend a prop adapter in a crash, Dani and most hobby shops will have a replacement 4mm collet adapter.  The 3DR version has a bolt on adapter, and the dumbies don't sell replacements.  Bent adapter with 3DR you have to buy a new motor.
The other problem with 3DR's version is not knurling to grip the prop.  The torque required to hold the prop tight is about the same torque required for the supplied steel nut to strip the threads on the auminium stud.
I know this from painful and expensive learning experience.  I am just in the process of replacing all the shafts on my 3DR with the ones CanadaDrones supplies.
Dani, thank for carrying motors that have accesories that can be replaced, and for stocking the replacement parts.
I give this motor four stars, the 3DR version no stars.

Best you can get for that price... June 11, 2014
Reviewer: Dirk from Regina, SK Canada
Had four of them in my Kit, one is not running that smooth like the others. But related to the price it's a good value.
